The Art Department at Rhodes College and the Lillian and Morrie Moss Endowment for the Visual Arts is excited to present Rethinking Regionalism: Place in Contemporary Art, a lecture by contemporary art historian James Yood.
The free lecture will be on Thursday, March 27th at 7:00 pm in Blount Auditorium in Buckman Hall.
James Yood teaches contemporary art history and criticism at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he is Adjunct Full Professor in the Department of Art History, Theory and Criticism. Active as an art critic and essayist on contemporary art, he is the Chicago correspondent to Artforum and Tema Celeste, and also writes regularly for GLASS Magazine, American Craft, Aperture, and Art and Auction. Yood was Educated at the University of Wisconsin and at the University of Chicago, he has lectured on issues in modern art at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, the Terra Museum of American Art, the St. Louis Art Museum, the Akron Art Museum, the Museum of Art and Design in New York, the Columbus Museum of Art, the Boise Art Museum, the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, the Milwaukee Art Museum, the Madison Art Center, the Speed Museum in Louisville, the Mint Museum in Charlotte, the Huntsville Museum of Art, and at many other venues.
