UrbanArt 'Show and Tell' Night
The UrbanArt Commission is looking for recent college grads, grandmothers, artists, accountants, truck drivers, tattooed ladies, executive chefs, gypsies, tramps, thieves - anyone in Memphis who is creative, interesting, and a little bit obsessed - to participate in a new event called simply UrbanArt 'Show and Tell.'
Do you have a great collection of garden statues? A new body of paintings you've never shown anyone? A secret obsession? A strange hobby? We want you to share your passion with us and the creative community at large.
The format is simple - each person gets to show 20 slides, and each slide plays for 20 seconds for a total of 6 minutes and 40 seconds of showing and telling per person. The content is up to you, but we're not kidding about the time limit!
We'll have 20 rapid-fire presentations (with a break in the middle to reload at the bar) for a total of about 2.5 action-packed hours. It'll be a time to get to know other interesting people in Memphis, and to let them know what you or your organization is doing!
If you want to participate, send your contact information, two jpeg images, and no more than 20 words describing who you are and what you want to present to showandtellmemphis@gmail.com.
Our committee will choose the 20 most intriguing proposals to be presented at The Cove on the night of November 1st from 6 to 8 p.m. The Cove is located on 2559 Broad Avenue and is a 21 and over venue. Remember, we welcome entries from individuals with a genuine passion. No topic is too big or too small if it's what you're crazy about right now.
