Gallery 314 and Allie Marbry are excited to announce an exhibition of paintings:
Twin: Southern Journey
Southern Journey will take place one night only – Friday April 24th. The reception for the show will be held at 314 S. Main St. from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
A live painting by the artists will take place in the gallery beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Southern Journey will feature both recent and older works by the artists Jerry and Terry Lynn. Painting collaboratively as Twin, they cast light on an early era of southern America. Bold and vibrant colors highlight the history and people of the delta area.
Jerry and Terry Lynn, born in Memphis 1975, grew up hearing stories of the old days that are the prominent subject of many of their works. They have both attended the Tennessee Governor’s School for the Arts at Middle Tennessee State University, and later graduated from the University of Memphis. Both their exhibition list and list of honors are quite long. A few recent exhibitions have been Flying Solo 10, Nashville International Airport, Nashville (2007); Jackson Summer Art Salon, David Lusk Gallery, Jackson, MS (2004); National Black Fine Arts Show, Puck Building, New York, NY (2004). Their works show regularly at David Lusk Gallery in Memphis, TN. They also have been featured in Southern Living, At Home, and Memphis magazines. Gallery 314 is located at 314 S. Main St. The Gallery is open to rent for artists who wish to show their work.
