$50.000 Park Project

Cordova area park formerly known as Countrywood Park is about to be redesigned and renamed Fletcher Creek Park and the UrbanArt Commission of Memphis is offering a $50,000 budget to artists for creating best public art proposal for the new space.  Now I'm certainly no expert in these type of proposals, but I believe that whatever is left after the construction goes in the artist's pocket as the fee for the design.  Concrete is pretty cheap and could leave you a buncha cash at the end of this thing....  more info is available at the UrbanArt Commission site at, fittingly enough, http://www.urbanartcommission.org.  The deadline for proposals is May 7.  And by the way, more opportunities like this one are listed on our bulletin boards.  Follow the link on the left, or click here to see more.
